"Swallows has invoked what people are calling 'rock and roll, ugly and beautiful, profane and spiritual...' This [Minnesota] quartet brings a blend of classic blues, a barrage of eclectic instruments, and warm yet gritty Nick Cave vocals to a state otherwise known for Atmosphere and Sage Francis." - David Buchanan, Consequence of Sound
"[Songs for Strippers...] is one of the best beginning-to-end creative efforts I've heard out of a local outfit in the last couple years." - Skelly, Borangutan.com
"Pretty fantastic.... A rowdy group with a folk style that reminded me a lot of Trampled By Turtles." - Natalie Gallagher, City Pages (Mpls./St. Paul)
"Where the Minnesota sound is headed." - Dave Hoenack, Hymie's Vintage Records
Swallows are based in St. Paul, MN and gig locally in the Twin Cities area and regionally around the upper Midwest.
