Who killed the Blues? It's been harvested to near-extinction, and the people are calling for population control. Fret not fair listeners! There are predators about, hunters at work sharpening their sound with crystal Rock flint. They're out to end the reign of the boring Blues bopper. Be wary, ye soggy jammers of yore, some gnarly young pups have come out to play.

What Tyrants are licking their chops after unleashing Kill the Cat, their rollicking debut full-length LP. One part Rockin', one part Rollin', one part Bluesin', Kill the Cat is 100% USDA Certified Beastly. They're in the game, and they know the score. You'll notice right away how "Mighty, Mighty" their raw sound becomes with some production. These hip cats sound like veteran wailers.

What Tyrants was born in the summer of 2011, when Sean Schultz laid down an 8 track home demo with his ivory keys. Brother Kyle was quickly recruited to play drums. The duo have a natural chemistry together, forged through years of making music under various monikers, even recording with local rapper made good POS of Doomtree. With Nick "Fingers" Stotesbery and Adam "Who?" Sullivan rounding out the troupe on guitar and bass What Tyrants is unmatched ferocity.

"Keeping Up" their momentum, What Tyrants clearly aren't taking prisoners, at least not on Side A. By the time they slow it down and "Make It Ugly", you'll hear a calm maturity give way to bold breakdowns, percussive and electric. But nothing can prepare you for the fatal blow, the shot to the heart, a revival of Jim Pepper's "Newly-Weds Song". As a capstone track, it possesses the power to pin you against the back wall, Marty McFly-style. If you're still breathing, thank your lucky stars to be an official survivor of the onslaught.

No one saw it coming, there's no warning sign for this type of attack. Planets align, galaxies explode, and the occasional deadly combo of musicians delivers sonic destruction. Matter is neither created nor destroyed, merely transformed, transformed into energy of the most delightful Blues-Rock variety. They're out to melt some faces, some seriously rock-steady faces, and yours might just well be next, sweetheart.
