The Mockingbirds
Songbird Series and Music FestivalsThis is Paul McNees' solo project. The first album was called "Songs and Other Delusions" and is available on CDBaby. On that album, Paul played most of the instruments and included members of his former band, Bass Line Dada. Paul was also a member and songwriter for the Bay Area band, Hoarhound whose other member Ari Fellows-Mannion went on to form Loretta Lynch with Val Esway (Ramona the Pest). The new album, Lacuna, was produced by Mark Growden and is intended as a tribute to Paul's father who passed away in May of 2011. Paul is a musician, teacher, and writer who is exploring the deep roots of human music-making through the lens of metaphysics and philosophy. He is currently pursuing his Phd in Philosophy with a focus on Music and the Evolution of Consciousness. The Mockingbirds is a labor of love that gives expression to Paul's dedication to music and the alchemy of collaborative participation.

Misner & Smith are a gem of a musical pairing, offering a refreshing take on contemporary folk music. Their lovely harmonies and perfectly blended voices fit within classic American traditions, and their songwriting and storytelling transport the listener to a world of their creation. The Mockingbirds is the solo project of Paul McNees (Bass Line Dada, Hoarhound). A little bit folk, a little bit country, a little bit experimental... The Mockingbirds is a strange but lovely brew. He will be joined this evening by Myles Boisen on guitar, and Diana Strong on accordion.
Alpha Bitch Soup is the brainchild of cellist/songwriter Artemis de Cello formerly Conception Vessel One and Lemon LimeLights. 100% Rock Goodness!
