Melodic indie electro rock with haunting female vocals. This San Francisco band creates a sound that is at once melancholy and moving, yet upbeat and catchy. By infusing the music with jazz and electronic influences, they conjure a dynamic and exciting style that is all their own.
Leanne plays the keys and sings. She is from Los Angeles and has been playing music since age five, and writing music since grade five. Jake plays the drums. He met Leanne in Los Angeles through friends ten years ago and they've been collaborating musically ever since. Jake is from Wisconsin, and is good with computers and on snowy mountains. Chris met Leanne and Jake through the interwebs. He plays the bass, and majored in jazz studies in college. Chris is from Ohio, is also good with computers, and makes robots.
Together they are New Spell.
