Classical Revolution Players
Since November 2006, Classical Revolution has presented over 500 chamber music performances in the Bay Area.
The name was taken from the birthplace of the movement, Classical Revolution, where weekly "Chamber Jams" have drawn more than 400 different musicians from around the world, including professional orchestra musicians, local freelancers, full-time string quartet memberss, and dedicated amatuer musicians.
Every Monday 8pm at Revolution Cafe, Classical Rev features a wide variety of musicial selections, from Mozart and Beethoven string quartets to Debussy and Rachmaninoff solo piano pieces, as well as local bands and ensembles who may or not fit into the "chamber music" genre, depending on one's perspective.
This year's ensemble in residence is the Musical Art Quntet, a group led by bassist Sascha Jacobsen, which combines classical chamber music writing with grooving rhythms and Latin dance forms.
Upcoming shows include:
Friday September 30th Quartet San Francisco @ Collins Theater SF
Monday October 3rd Musical Art Quintet @ Yoshi's SF
