Sasha Mercedes, 26 year old singer/songwriter from the shores of Lake Superior, armed with her acoustic guitar and a set of vocal chords that surprise and captivate audiences every time, prove that she is, no doubt, a one woman force to be reckoned with. Often compared in Style to Stevie Nicks meets Janis Joplin, Sasha's music is robust enough to get someone's attention at a bar, but inviting enough to comfort a coffee shop audience. She is able to craft songs which stay in the ear long after they are over and her charizma on stage only adds to the charm of the whole package.

After a two month stint in the Czech Republic, fronting a goth rock band, Sasha decided to return to her roots. She left Prague and moved back to Bayfield WI where she quickly began working on her first solo record. This album, entitled, Pipe Dreams, is a collaborative effort with Tom Fabjance, previous sound engineer for the Smashing Pumpkins and is a collecion of raw and progressive original material dealing with Mercedes' youth.

From that point, Mercedes moved to Baltimore where she toured with a bluegrass band in addition to playing her own music. After returning home again, she and Fabjance released Sasha's second album, Tide, which is a more mature and reflective album recorded in Duluth, MN.

Sasha Mercedes' third album is now on the horizon. This more radio friendly (yet still organic) project was recorded with Kevin Hovey, previous production manager for Jessica Simpson and Prince and is, in Mercedes' opinion, her best work to date.

Performing coast to coast, Sasha Mercedes attracts fans wherever she plays, and whether it's little Bayfield, WI or Prague, the reaction is the same. With all of the changes that have taken place and all of the miles traveled during her musical career thus far, one thing has remained constant and that is the determination to bring her music to an ever-widening audience.
