Groove Steady is a high energy up and coming funk- r&b- jazz group.
Alissa Wachter - Vocals, originally from Rosemount, MN. Alissa started singing in church with her two sisters at a very young age. Her father (a talented mandolin player) and her mother (a talented pianist and singer) inspired a love of music in the family. Alissa has performed in venues across the U.S. and Europe in both classical and contemporary ensembles. In 2006, Alissa had the honor of singing at the Sydney Opera House under the direction of composer Eric Whitacre. Most often you'll find hip-hop or jazz playing on her stereo.
Tamas Majoros - Guitar, originally from Tarcal, Hungary. He lived in Budapest for about 10 years before he moved to the USA. He has performed in various bands, first he learned to play the guitar from his father Sandor Majoros, later Tamas Mohai was his mentor and guitar teacher. He played and toured with Lil'Slim Band before Groove Steady. He grew up listening mostly rock music, and when he was 22 he started shifting towards jazz and funk. Later he became obsessed with blues. Today he listens to a mixture of blues, jazz, r&b, funk and rock.Although he never purposely tried to imitate Carlos Santana, often times people say: " he man you sound like Santana"
Altamir Coelho - Bass " began his career as a musician in 2005 when he was 19 years old. Since then he worked nearly 5 years in Brazil as a bassist in the music department of Praise Village in Sao Paulo, recording albums and touring through out Brazil. In 2009 Altamir started to work with Giant Leap Studios in Bloomington, MN. He is an amazing bass player especially in the funk rock, jazzy/pop genres. He also has a Latin/Brazilian influence being from Brazil, that brings an element of amazing surprise to a song! Blayr Alexander - Drums, grew up in the church watching his uncle play the drums. While he'd sit and play, Blayr'd be in the first row watching his every move. He grew up watching him teach his son the drum moves he did, as his son would sit right next to him as he played. Blayr's dad started his own church and they were out of a drummer so he called Blayr up, and stated "hit me hard, and hit me fast, keep the pocket, an Les go" That was the first time he ever played fast church music. Since then He has played with such Groups as 'The New Congresss', Aaron Wessel, also he taught drum classes, and played ensambles at McPhail center of music
