A teacher, composer and player of several instruments, Jeff Brueske currently concentrates on the bass. He studied under jazz virtuoso Anthony Cox , briefly under Rodney Whitaker and the late Dennis Irwin,as well as classical bassists Robert Anderson of the Minnesota Orchestra and Mark Kausch of the Lyra Baroque Orchestra. He has appeared with many local jazz luminaries including Dennis Spears, Connie Evingson, Pete Whitman, Kevin Washington, and the late Bobby Peterson. He is bassist for the JoAnn Funk Duo which plays weekly at the historic St. Paul Hotel,   and co-founded the Gypsy jazz ensemble Sidewalk Cafe and modern inprov trio Exquisite Corps.
