Portraits for Judith
Portraits for Judith has been the brain child of Guitarist, Nick Kosobuski, (x-Entropy) and Vocalist/Bassist, Dustin Fennessey (x-Dogrust) since 2002. They began developing their sound as Stoma Blue an early incarnation of what is now Portraits. As Stoma Blue they entered the Minnesota Bud Light True Music Battle of the Bands. They were met with rave reviews and extremely positive fan reaction. After the battle concluded, they realized there was a market for their music. The basis of that music is centered on two things: Nick's imaginative, dissonant, yet melodic guitars. Couple that with Dustin's brooding, dynamic vocals and rock solid bass. The foundation was there. The project became more of a mission and less of a hobby. Throughout the next couple years they suffered through many line up changes always remaining true to the vision. With each change the sound evolved. Soon they realized that with this evolution came the desire to re-identify themselves. Portraits For Judith was born. The name takes on an ambiguity that lends itself to several musical genres and possibilities. This leaves the band open to explore the vast array of musical avenues as it seeks to find itself. Joining in the journey are Drummer, Thomas Anderson (x-Earthworm Circus), and Guitarist, Alister Quade (x-Tepetricy). Thomas' articulate, yet groove inspired drums along with Alister's Jazz foundation, metal influences, and blazing solos have expanded and honed the sound that is now unmistakably Portraits for Judith.
