Blending funk and pop-rock together, Clovis has created a healthy buzz around the Twin Cities. Although the project was started as a duo in September of 2001, they have only been a collective quartet since January. As a very new band, Clovis has made early strides toward success. They recently won the Leg Up III competition at the Cabooze; entitling them to studio time, promotion packages and a recorded album compliments of Angel Beach Studios. Overall, their live set is dedicated to original material. However, they slip in cover songs ranging from Simon and Garfunkel to Cat Stevens. Guitarist-lead vocalist Johnny Charon fronts the band, while The Earl provides lead guitar and vocals. The Clovis rhythm section consists of bassist Andy McClure and Brett Behrens on drums Throughout the Twin Cities, Clovis plays several venues including; The Cabooze, The Fineline, O'Gara's and Uptown. Clovis has also played The Red Carpet Night Club, in St. Cloud, with local band Roger. Certainly, Clovis are working their way toward a bright future. The way things are going, their following will continue to broaden and expand. Without question, Clovis is a band worth experiencing
