Steve Parry hails from Minnesota, the land of John Gorka, Bob Dylan and Greg Brown. Growing up in a small Midwestern farming community gave Steve a down-to-earth perspective on life.  As a young man, he had the opportunity to travel the world and soak up his exposure to people from all walks of life. His travels have also led him to live in some of our country’s iconic music cities like Seattle, Chicago, New Orleans. The experiences of making friends from different cultures later helped Steve develop the stories in his songs.

Steve’s music  makes audiences feel they are living his stories first-hand. It gives the listener a chance to become part of the story. As the songs develop and take shape, listeners will know what the characters look like, what they see, what they hear, and ultimately how they feel. They may even be able to dust the trail dirt off their boots after listening.

Some of Steve’s favorite fellow storytellers are John Prine, Slaid Cleaves, Michael O’Connor, Verlon Thompson, Guy Clark, Jonathan Byrd and Steve Earle to name just a few. He’s happiest when he can spark a memory with a melody from the past, or create a new one with a brand new song. When he sees his listeners smiling and tapping their toes a he knows a connection has been made.

Steve's music has been featured on FM radio in the US, Europe and Australia, as well as a number of internet based stations.
