Margaret Houlton has been singing professionally in the Twin Cities Metro area for more than 20 years. Ms. Houlton has appeared as soloist with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Mississippi Valley Orchestra, Kenwood Orchestra, Philomusica, Minnesota Chorale, and the Plymouth Music Series. She has won the Metropolitan Opera National Council District Auditions and the Schubert Club Scholarship Competition, as well as the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition. Ms. Houlton won several scholarships while working on her Masters Degree in Vocal Performance at the University of Minnesota, including the Voices of Vienna Scholarship which took her to Salzburg, Austria to study at the Mozarteum, the Shuessler Award, and the Bell Award. Ms. Houlton is available for private recitals, weddings, and fundraising events, and she relies on the very capable pianist Tom Bartsch and lovely harpist Andrea Stern to accompany her.
