Patrick Callan

Patrick Callan is a Minneapolis based Singer-Songwriter influenced by Robert Johnson, Iron and Wine, and The Gits. He follows in the tradition of such politically and socially aware folk singers such as Ani Difranco, Bob Dylan, and Woody Guthrie. His songs are smart, deeply personal and easy to relate to.

Patrick's newest collection of songs was released May 29, 2010. It was self-produced during all night recording sessions from December to March 2010, starting from scratch several times. The result is a subdued, very honest, melancoly, haunting sound. The lyrical content is a reflection upon failure, heartbreak, wage slavery, travel, and ultimately one of nihilistic joy in the face of a corporate world that has forgotten fun.

Patrick Callan began playing guitar and writing songs in 1996, and began running a record label out of his bedroom in 2001, he has released countless limited-run EP's, compilations, and collaborative projects. "Patrick Callan-Songs:2005-2009," a compilation of his many limited run EP's is now available through itunes as well as many other digital music distributers
