Tyler Jakes
Tyler Jakes is a songwriter/singer/guitarist, originally from Minneapolis, MN. He has released three albums, scored a short film, and had his music featured in the TV show Deadliest Catch. His sound blends elements of rock n' roll, blues, garage-punk, outlaw country, gypsy folk, and surf music. Jakes performs acoustically, as well as with his backing band, The Bootleggers. Vernon Reid (of the Grammy award-winning, Living Colour) described Jakes’ songwriting as “gritty and witty”. Pulse of the Twin Cities drew comparisons as broad as Bob Dylan and BRMC, while SF Bay Area Rock hailed Jakes as “the alcoholic love child of Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Pixies”.
