Mike brings a set of bluegrass and classic folk tunes that will have you wishing we had a campfire going for making s'mores. Luckily, we've got a caseful of treats and Mike has the guitar.

This is an informal show - the music will be sort of a backdrop for a hanging out crowd, or so I've heard. Come for some of it, or come for all of it. Come eat and drink and meet some new people. Bring cards and cribbage boards to use while you socialize and listen. Ginkgo's suggested donation for the night is $5, but I'm not really doing this for the love of music rather than money. I should be playing a few covers in addition to a whole bunch of originals.

Brothers JACK TORREY & PAGE BURKUM sing songs of the people in a country and western style. Songs of love and of love gone wrong. Of life and death, and the great beyond. The guitars strum while the fiddle takes a lead. The steel guitar cries, and the bass walks up the street.

Based in Minneapolis, the band features the fine talents of MIKE "RAZZ" RUSSELL on the fiddle, LIZ DRAPER on the upright bass, and RANDY BROUGHTEN on steel guitar.

Pop has quite the reputation as a singer, picker, fiddler, lasso twirler, poet and downright funny guy.

He appeared quite frequently on Public Radio's A Prairie Home Companion during the show's formative years and for the last four decades he has worked his cowboy magic throughout 44 states and ten countries.

His cowboy anthems crackle with the warmth of a prairie campfire and his old time fiddle tunes set toes a-tappin' while he serves up spellbinding rope tricks and tall stories -- all with a good dose of friendly humor.
