Paul Galbraith: Classical Guitar
When Galbraith first appeared at the museum a year ago, the Santa Barbara News-Press wrote that "the performance in this small chamber verged on an epiphany." Galbraith plays a revolutionary eight-string instrument, held like a cello, with two extra strings (one high and one low) and a unique design that increases the technical and sonic possibilities to an extent never before possible. The New Yorker referred to his "exceptional artistry" and London's Sunday Times described his "amazing clarity and huge dynamic range [which] held the audience spellbound." He will perform a Bach Toccata, Ravel's Mother Goose Suite, and works by Villa-Lobos, Debussy, Granados and Alb
